The Wall Zone

Description: One of the classic sectors of national randonnée. Its easy access via paved road, abundant snowfall, and incredible landscapes make it one of the favorite spots for local backcountry skiers/riders.

It should be noted that to reach the lagoon, you have to pass through the Chilean customs, who sometimes do not allow passage because the road is «not enabled» and there are defined hours for crossing (9:00 am – 4:00 pm).

Snow Months: June – October (until November in a good year)
Minimum Altitude: 2,330m (7,642 feet)
Maximum Altitude: 2,900m (9,514 feet)
Ascent Time: 30 mins – 2 hours

Main Wall

Description: Section of lines for experienced skiers. South face and rock walls keep the snow very well within the gullies. Relatively short lines with quick ascents allow you to ski several in a day. With little snow, the gullies become narrower and more exposed.

There may still be unskied lines, imagine and create a new line.

Ascent Time: 30 mins – 1 hour

Intermediate Zone

Description: For those who are not yet brave enough to try The Wall, this section will eventually give them the confidence to do so. Good slope and some obstacles at the beginning of the lines make this section quite entertaining for intermediate-level skiers.

Beginners Zone

Description: Without obstacles and with a gentle slope, it’s the perfect place for those who are just starting out in skiing. Learning with incredible views of Laguna del Maule, what could be better?

How to Get There: Exit the highway at Talca and drive towards Paso Pehuenche.

Weekend Itinerary: You need to adjust to the customs office’s opening hours. If the pass to Laguna is open, they operate from 9 am to 5 pm. If you’re coming from Santiago, we recommend leaving on Friday afternoon and staying in the La Mina area to set out for Laguna in the morning.
